Amanda Eiring

UX Designer

July 2025

Design has always been a passion for Amanda Eiring, and now she's designing for T-Kartor. Amanda is our UX Designer in the Sweden office, and she has been an incredible asset to our team over the last few years!

When Amanda was younger, she loved designing clothes. Her father saw her talents early on and predicted that she would be a designer when she was older, and he was right! She began studying interior design before she pivoted her focus to digital design.

Amanda takes pride in how UX design simplifies the complex. She's passionate about how thoughtful UX can guide users intuitively through interfaces, especially in situations where timing is critical. For example, in emergency scenarios, it's essential that users receive the right information at the right time, and that it's easy to find and understand.

Design is inherently collaborative, and over the years, Amanda has come to understand what she values most in a project. Clear communication and solid structure are essential to her, and she takes great responsibility in her role, both in delivering quality work and continuously improving her own process. By reflecting on how she works, she’s also learned how she can better contribute to the team as a whole.

Amanda enjoys working with her colleagues daily, which is one of her favorite parts of her job. She also enjoys the art of everyday work and projects. There is always more to learn, and Amanda looks forward to advancing her knowledge of design and geospatial every day.

The culture at T-Kartor is essential for Amanda. She describes it as a small company with big visions. It has a familiar feel. This family-like dynamic is a big part of why she has enjoyed her time at T-Kartor over the last three years.

If Amanda were to give one piece of advice to someone just starting out in their design career, it would be to learn how to zoom in and out. Shifting between levels of detail, both in the big picture and the fine points, helps you understand the design in different phases and contexts. That kind of perspective is invaluable in developing thoughtful, effective solutions.

Like many colleagues, Amanda sees AI becoming increasingly integrated into the daily processes of both geospatial and UX work. She also hopes the importance of UX design continues to grow, because with strong UX, development becomes more efficient and systems more user-friendly.

After Amanda logs off for the day, you'll find her hanging out with her two dogs. She is also in the process of building a house with her partner. Building the house has been challenging and rewarding, and Amanda loves putting her interior and UX design skills to work in a physical form. They are hoping to have the house finished in the coming year!
