About the Role

Position Summary

Aeronautical Analysts are responsible for analyzing source documents and converting worldwide aeronautical data into graphic formats for use in DoD flight operations. Products include Standard Instrument Departures (SIDs), Standard Terminal Arrival Routes (STARs), and Instrument Approach Plates (IAPs).


Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze host nation aeronautical data
  • Create and update aviation navigation products (SID, STAR, and IAPs) with relevant aeronautical data
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and conformance to technical specification
  • Identify and resolve data conflicts
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members via email, instant message, and voice
  • Comply with changes in product specifications
  • Work remotely with little day-to-day oversight. Ability to prioritize work, self-motivate, and operate independently. Must work weekdays during team core hours.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, aviation, geographic information systems, another related field of study; OR equivalent relevant experience in a related career field to include Air Traffic Control
  • Demonstrate computer proficiency. Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams) is required. Must be able to quickly learn new computer software applications.



Your Profile

Desired Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience with aviation navigation, air traffic control, or related aviation industry experience
  • Private pilot certificate or higher – an instrument rating is highly desirable
  • Experience with GIS and/or CAD software (Bentley OpenCities Maps, ESRI or similar)
  • Experience with data analysis and/or reading maps
  • Previous experience in production or use of IAPs, SIDs, STARs, or enroute charts
  • High-speed internet is required: Minimum download speed of 125 Mbps  or faster
