Entry-Level Geospatial Analyst: Landcover

Utilizing ESRI ArcGIS/Pro and ERDAS IMAGINE, the Entry-Level Geospatial Analyst will support the creation and revision of land and ground cover features through imagery analysis. The role involves interpreting and extracting geospatial information to produce accurate representations of the Earth’s surface, contributing to high-quality mapping and data products.

About the Role


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and process geospatial data using ArcGIS 10, ArcGIS Pro, or Erdas Imagine
  • Support land and ground cover mapping projects such as VISNAV, IWLSISS, and SoilScape (experience preferred but not required)
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality maps, reports, and datasets
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate project progress clearly
  • Maintain data organization using Windows File Explorer and Microsoft Office tools


Your Profile


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS 10, ArcGIS Pro, and/or Erdas Imagine
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with Janus Geography Land and Ground Cover projects (VISNAV, IWLSISS, SoilScape)

System Requirements (Remote Work):

  • Laptop/PC with at least one 13" monitor and a second 13" monitor (dual monitors required)
  • Windows OS (preferred) or macOS Catalina 10.15.3 or later
  • CPU: Intel i5 / Ryzen 5 or higher
  • RAM: Minimum 8 GB
  • Peripherals: Keyboard, mouse, headset, and webcam
  • Stable internet connection with minimum 50 Mbps speed
