United States Forest Service USFS use CPS software for the production of 1:24,000 scale topographic maps. These maps are produced under cooperative agreement with the US Geological Survey. USFS is responsible for approximately 20% of the 50,000+ sheets covering the US. USFS also use CPS software for the production of the secondary base series of maps. These maps provide smaller scale maps, typically 1:126,720 scale (1 inch to 2 miles) that cover each of the more than 200 national forests in the US.
