Posten (Swedish Postal Service)Posten is the name of the Swedish postal service. Today Posten (founded in 1636) is a government owned limited company with about 30 000 employees, serving 900 000 companies and 4.5 million households on a daily basis. Posten serves their customers through a partnership network, at so called Postal Service Points, which are maintained in grocery shops and gas stations.
Posten use T-Kartor web service “Karthotellet” to help their customer to locate the nearest service (office, mailboxes) on the Posten.se web site. The user is allowed to make geographically based searches in combination with other criterias such as category of servicelevel, opening-hours etc. The locator service provides mapping as well as geographic based list-search.
Karthotellet web services are also used to provide Posten’s customers with maps for use of mobile internet (cellular phones). Export of location based information for GPS users is also a part of T-Kartors cooperation with Posten.
