Ministry of the Interior (MoI) - Czech Republic

The Czech MoI, represented by the Fire Rescue Service Department, is building a national system for crisis management. T-Kartor Group, through T-Mapy, is contracted to provide the GIS/spatial component of the Information System for Crisis Management (ISCM). This is a highly integrated decision support system to assist in national rescue and crisis incidents. Many spatial tools and functions are intimately linked into ISCM including:

• manpower resource management
• proposed evacuation routes
• risk analysis
• crisis plan mapping
• dispersion modelling of harmful substances
• identification of particularly threatened objects

The base level software being used is a combination of Oracle, ESRI and OpenSource tied together at the application level by T-MapServer and T-WIST. Some desktop mapping applications are also being based on ArcEngine from ESRI.
