TKG has delivered a centralised hydrographic information management system integrated with both the ENC and printed chart production lines. The information management system, nicknamed KATISKA, went into production during November 2006.

KATISKA is based on Oracle10/ArcSDE9 and ArcMap9 and includes database solutions and tools for processing and maintaining hydrographic data, as well as export functions for ENC production. Database design was an integrated part of the total delivery. After the successful delivery of KATISKA, an automated ENC cell builder (used for EN and ER production) was developed and delivered in during autumn 2007. After passing System Acceptance ENC builder went into production December 2007 and are now in routine production with FMA.

Printed charts are produced using the nSector system via automated update management interface to KATISKA. Both digital and paper products are derived from a single source and there are this way no information content discrepancies between the different products.
