South Yorkshire PTE turned to T-Kartor to create a suite of automated information product update tools, the Digital Mapping System.

This product shows the full extent of a bus route, scaled optimally to fit the paper size. Each map shows a geographic representation of the bus route along the roads served showing bus stop positions and local area names. Main timing points are named stops along the route.

The Line of Route product is appreciated by passengers as the simplest way to present an overview of each bus route. It is scaled for use in timetable booklets or as a downloadable map on the internet for printing at A4 size.

SYPTE will be producing hundreds of Line of Route maps. Each of them is automatically produced, based on their own background mapping and linked to live bus network data.
