Interactive Geographic Network Map
South Yorkshire PTE have commissioned T-Kartor to create a suite of software for automating the creation of passenger information.
The interactive Geographic Network Map (iGNM) places the public transport information on the internet. The service offers a versatile search function linked to addresses, postcodes, bus stops and routes, places of interest and tram and rail stations. Information displayed includes routes overlaying a detailed basemap, bus stops and which routes use them, other transport possibilities and places of interest. Bus stops and routes are also linked to timetables and live feeds from 'Your Next Bus'.
Background mapping and bus information shared with other software on the platform is updated independantly with automated routines to update the website on a regular basis.
Work has also begun on the next phase for the iGNM, which is to include walking information.
