Mapping for the Norwegian Military Geographic Service

T-Kartor has for many years maintained a seamless kartographic database for the Norwegian military. The maps produced from this database are used for low flying training missions over mountainous terrain, so accuracy and regular, dependable updates are paramount. The key features leading to the success of this project are as follows:

High spec cartography - The database is made up of over 70 layers (a busy ciy such as London uses 20-30 layers), using complicated hill shading algorithms and 3 spot colours to create an incredible level of detail suitable for reading at night in an aircraft cockpit.

Update frequency - Update notices are sent twice monthly as document lists, covering crucial information such as new antennas or electricity pilons. These are input into the database within 48 hours and will subsequently appear on all product outputs.

High security - The FGMT database is secret military information. Suitable layers of information are used for different products. A complete set of data is kept on an isolated, secure network and a mirror of the data is kept with FMGT.
